Southern Lights at The Kentucky Horse Park

Tonight was opening night for this yearly event! With company in town, it was a perfect attraction to go see.
The traditional Twelve Days of Christmas is one of the first displays you will see as you enter the park.

Tons of smaller light displays line the already beautiful grounds of the Horse Park.

Of course, as expected, there are more than one light displays pertaining to basketball! Loved this one! Go Cats!
This particular horse and carriage display was really pretty but a photo doesn’t give it justice.

I loved all the horse themed displays. Being in the middle of horse country, the choices for displays were wonderful!
After driving through the light display, you can park your car and visit the park grounds. There are tons of vendors, food, pony rides, camel rides, train rides, train displays, and of course, Santa!

 Pictures with Santa are available.

The train ride around the park is a nice touch!

The train runs by the visitor center.

There are camel rides available next to the petting zoo. I think this is Dasher. (Just kidding)

I wasn’t expecting to see this fella in the petting zoo. He didn’t really look like he wanted to be messed with.

This is the Secretariat Statue outside the visitor center.

It was a great night to visit The Kentucky Horse Park! Check out the lights if you can over the holiday season!
